Long before Jeff and I met, he was attending LSU and rooming with a guy named Frank aka Daniel. Oh the stories I have heard about their adventures together. Daniel was always there when we visited Louisiana and full of spunk and charm. Several years went by and we didn’t see him much. We were pleasantly surprised when he contacted us to let us know he was engaged to a Texas girl! (YAY for Cajun & Texan Marriages) We were excited to visit Louisiana and shoot their engagement session earlier this year. Emily is that sweet spitfire Texas girl that I love. We seriously had the best time together. Friends for life.
We were super excited to come back to Texas and celebrate with Emily and Daniel. It was 100% chance of rain and high humidity. We prayed the entire drive from Austin to New Braunfels that there would be a miracle and the rain would skip right over us. Would you believe it didn’t rain a drop? 🙂 We met up at the cutest salon where all of the girls were getting ready together. Emily was all smiles and calm as could be. We loved the Texas charm that this salon had and decided to do all of the details shots there! I even made a few purchases for myself! We then headed to the hotel to meet up with Daniel as he got his finishing touches together. In true guy fashion, The Masters Golf Tournament was on the TV. Jeff and Daniel were throwing jokes around as we pulled his details together. I hated to interject, but we had a wedding to get ready for!
It was a beautiful day filled with family, friends and some serious TX/LA rivalries! We loved the Texas/Louisiana theme throughout the reception. Mexican food and Cajun food was the perfect balance for this crowd. At one point after the speeches, you could see Daniel’s face dramatically change. The Texas Aggies fight song started playing loud and proud. With the love for his new wife, he stood beside her clapping along. It was hilarious! But not too long after that, the LSU fight song filled the building and the dance floor was flooded with proud LSU fans. Emily tried to escape, but I told her “Oh no!! You have to stay”. Her face said it all. We loved the soft peach, mint green and gold touches mixed with the Texas/Louisiana theme.
So excited for you both and can’t wait to watch your life unfold! Love you guys and thank you for bringing us all the way from New Jersey to celebrate with you.
