Train Themed Wedding at Patriot Hills New York :: Meagan + Christopher

The drive from North Jersey to Upstate New York was gorgeous. The skies opened up with big fluffy clouds and the lush green mountains wrapped all around us. Meagan and Christopher had a beautiful Christian ceremony surrounded by their loved ones at the beautiful Patriot Hills Country Club in New York. Keeping traditions alive, they both got ready with their closest friends and family. Christopher got dressed in their soon-to-be apartment while Meagan traditionally got ready at her parents house. We love shooting in the places that our couples will reside or where they grew up. You can see the photos on the walls that tell the story of them growing up or maybe get insider stories on stuff that did as a child! It’s too much fun. More importantly though…they are where they are most comfortable.

Meagan and Christopher’s relationship consisted of a lot of traveling back and forth long distance dating. When we shot their engagement they requested trains and this is where we learned the story. Many, many hours were spent sitting on train rides as they courted each other long distance. When they suggested they were going to do a theme with trains…well, of course I LOVED it. It was a perfect representation of their love story.

The wedding ceremony was extra special and extra emotional. I think I cried as much as the bride. 😀 Meagan and Christopher decided to forgo seeing each other before the wedding and see each other for the first time down the aisle. It. was. emotional. Shoot, wipe a tear, shoot, wipe a tear! Meagan’s father walked her down the aisle lined with friends and family towards Christopher. He was beaming with joy and tears as he waited for her. Meagan’s father also led the nuptials and married his own daughter. Gah, I loved that! When he laid his hands on their foreheads and prayed over them and their marriage I can remember thinking- This is a beautiful moment. The reception was no less emotional. It just kept getting more and more emotional! Speeches, wishes, special songs were sung and the bride and groom were showered with admiration and love from their family. We ended the night with an after dark sparkler shot. In the middle of a dark golf course with fire…no big deal 🙂

It was an epic day with an amazing wedding party, family and team. We were honored to witness this beautiful union. Congrats you two!
