The New Jersey skies were blue with puffy clouds as we all gathered at the Tides Estate to celebrate the wedding of Laura and Ryan. It was a beautiful day full of beautiful people. I feel so funny calling her Laura because in all reality, she is my dentist. I know what you’re thinking– wow, you have a gorgeous dentist. I know 🙂 She has such a bubbly spirit and nurturing touch that really makes her the perfect dentist. I am that girl. The one who goes to the dentist every 3 months because genetically I wasn’t in the running for “Best Teeth”. This just means I have a fantastic relationship with all of the folks at the dentist office! My hygienist is the sweetest woman you will ever meet. She always make sure I feel comfortable and asks me about all the weddings I am shooting. She did ask me one day if I was going to shoot Dr. Laura’s wedding… I was very hopeful!! I can’t say enough about Dr. Laura’s practice. I love her dearly and admire the work that she does. Naturally, when asked me to shoot her wedding I was thrilled! Being as busy as she is, we made plans to shoot her wedding only 1 month prior to the date! I just kept reminding her and Ryan that everything works out in the end and the stress will be worth it and fade away as they wedding day unfolds. And what would you know- it all turned out gorgeous and they were happily married.
Laura and Ryan’s engagement in Hoboken was the first time I had really gotten to know them on a personal level. Laura didn’t have scrubs on and Ryan wasn’t just a fictional character in my mind from all the sweet conversations about him with Laura. These two were madly in love and swoon worthy. Wedding day was no different as they were surrounded by their family. The girls were in the bridal suite preparing for the day with hair and makeup while the boys ran around preparing their things. Moms, sisters, aunts, children…everyone was there and excited for the big celebration. We loved the private ceremony with only immediate family overlooking the ballroom. It was quiet, thoughtful and truly special to see the faces of the parents light up. The celebration started off with a bang!! Laura and Ryan entered with a Zaffa band guiding them to the dance floor. The Zaffa Wedding March is an ancient Arab tradition that celebrates the beginning of a new marriage. With drums, sticks and swords they made their way to the ballroom floor where the couple danced with their loved ones and friends to ring in their new marriage. It is so much fun…lots of colors, beautiful dancing, traditions and great music! We loved the soft pinks and purples throughout the reception. Loved the honey jar gift that was on each table, so sweet. The Venetian Hour was unbelievable. Hand made crepes, ice cream bar, cakes, cookies, and so much more. OMG, delicious!  And to end in true dentist fashion. Their take away gift at the end was a personalized toothbrush!!
What a beautiful celebration of two amazing individuals. We are thrilled for Laura and Ryan as they begin their married adventure! Congrats guys!! Thank you for allowing us to tell you love story.
