The rain was rolling in as the wedding party were all getting ready for a beautiful wedding at the Stone House. Kristen and Brad are part of the TCNJ alumni. They are one of the many couples we have had the privilege of shooting here in New Jersey. We are kind of biased towards TCNJ because it has given us so many beautiful couples! We were all on weather watch because it was supposed to pretty much rain all day. I called upon my rain juju and hoped it would hold off long enough to take portraits. Guess what? It did! Kristen was the most calm bride. She was getting ready surrounded by all of her best friends as they were preparing for a fabulous day of celebrating a gorgeous wedding. Brad had planned to give Kristen hand written cards throughout the day during important moments. She opened letters when she was getting ready, before she put her dress on, before she went to see him for the first look and then finally a card when she saw him. He is so sweet and thoughtful! He also gave her a gift that everyone was very excited to see opened. A non-traditional wedding gift that made her day- GoPro Hero4! She was so excited and couldn’t have asked for a better gift! It was a sweet moment to watch Kristen’s mom and sister get her dressed to walk down the aisle. Kristen’s open backed dress with lace was the perfect fit for her. GORGEOUS! On the other side of the building the guys were hanging out together. In true men’s fashion, football was on the tv and everyone is trying to remember how to put on a tie. 🙂 Brad also received a gift from Kristen- a super fancy box with a stunning watch. These two definitely know each other very well.
The wedding colors were beautiful. The Mint, peach, and gold touches were perfect. I think I commented on how much I loved colors at least 10 times. Gorgeous girls, enthusiastic guys and an amazing couple. We couldn’t ask for more! This group was a tight knit group with lots of inside jokes and stories. Being college friends, I can only imagine all of the history they have between them.
The Stone House at Stirling Ridge is a beautiful place to get married. The florals tucked in wooden boxes with hints of lace were probably my favorite. The collected look of the glass bottles with single stemmed flowers really added to the beauty. The wedding was underneath a terrace as the sprinkles started to fall around us. Brad showed off the biggest smile as Kristen made her way down the aisle. The ceremony was super sweet and the kids faces walking down the aisle were classic. Crying never looked so cute. Kristen and Brad have been together for many years, so the families were already pretty close. This made for very emotional speeches, beautiful prayers and big laughs. Cocktail hour was absolutely amazing. It took the entire hour just to see all of the food! My favorite was the fresh prosciutto and cheese. The gentleman cutting the meat probably saw me at least 3 times. 🙂 It was fabulous. Then there were the big introductions into the reception…omg, the best we have ever seen. Guys dressed as girls, girls dressed as guys and bowling floral arrangements!! I can’t explain how fun it was in words!! The party was non-stop all night. The dance floor was packed as the live band kept everyone on their feet. They played everything from pop, classics and even classical serenades. Amazing!!! The rain even held off enough for everyone to enjoy the S’mores station outside. It really was a perfect day.
We are so thrilled for Kristen and Brad. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy being a part of your journey. We look forward to watching your lives unfold together.
