- After Session
- Weddings
This lovely couple came all the way from Texas to shoot in the Big Apple, New York City!
We were able to spend the entire afternoon hitting up some of New York’s finest spots! Central Park, The Boathouse, Bethesda Park, Time Square, and the amazing Brooklyn bridge. In a crazy fast paced world it felt like time stood still as these two fell in love all over again. New York was the perfect back drop for Whitney and Trevor. They fit right in and loved the sights and sounds. People would stop to say congratulations or take a photo of their own. They were like movie stars all day!
There were some MAJOR highlights to this session that I just have to share with you!
- There was a moment when I sat the bride and groom down in Central Park. I told them I was going to be waiting for the perfect time when a cyclist would go through my frame and to keep their eyes closed until I said “open” at the perfect time. I had my telephoto lens on and was quite far away. Therefore, most people wouldn’t know that I was shooting. These two old ladies walk up to them and stare at them with puzzled looks on their faces. The old ladies said, “I think they are asleep or maybe they aren’t real”. HAHAHA! Classic.
- When we arrived at the Boathouse to rent a boat they had just closed down. After some begging and explaining how my couple came all the way from Texas, they decided to bend some rules and let us get in a boat! They attached the oars and told us to get whatever we could get from the shore line. It wasn’t exactly what we had in mind, but we were grateful they even let us in considering that there was a line of 25 people behind us that were begging and not getting a chance! THANK YOU wedding dress for sealing the deal. 🙂
- We took the subway to Brooklyn where we would shoot the final shot of the night at Brooklyn Bridge Park. We hit the train and a stop or two in, a man jumps on with us with a bag that says “New York Jedi”. Whitney starts a conversation with him and seems very interested in what he had to say. He whips out a full blown light saber! OH MY GOODNESS!!! I remember him saying “I have something for you”. OK OK OK, so here is the back story… Whitney wanted to take Jedi lessons while she was in NYC. Yes, you read that correctly. This is the guy who she was trying to contact!!! He was there on the very same train in all of NY and standing right next to her. SERIOUSLY!? You can see by her expression that this was truly shocking. Talk about being in the right place at the right time. That is AMAZING.
We thoroughly enjoyed both the Vintage Country Wedding and the New York City After Session with these two! We are so happy for you and honored to share in this amazing year of your lives.
xx
