It was a gorgeous day. A gorgeous couple. A gorgeous occasion. Ben and Erika are super sweet and down to earth. I knew there day would reflect their style and that was just fine by me! We had a blast.
The big adventure started off in the town of my Alma Mater, Denton! We met the girls at the Salon Off the Square in Denton. The bride was finishing up her getting ready touches with her lovely sister-in-law that I referred to as her sister half the day *oops*, but everyone will agree they look alike! They were looking as beautiful as ever. I was surprised to hear that before their hair appointment they witnessed a pretty serious car wreck. The bride said she jumped out of the car and ran towards the victim. (She is a nursing student after all) What a way to start off your wedding day. I thought it was particularly cute when she said she probably ruined her pedicure during the incident. Thats the kind of bride I love- willing to do something for others even on her most important day. Love it.
We jumped in the car and headed out towards the Country Club at Fossil Creek in Fort Worth, Tx. The guys were ready and waiting. Scheming up cool photo ideas and asking how they could help. I took the details of the day such as the dress, shoes, jewelry and rings and Jeffrey took the guys to shoot some candids. I had big plans to shoot on the golf carts with the wedding party, but as you will soon learn–those plans were ruined by the boys. 🙂 They wanted to do something fun and silly and decided taking the golf carts for a spin and “fake” crashing them would be funny. Well, the first time it went great, but Bobby (our video dude) wasn’t there to get the footage and asked them to reenact. They backed up the golf carts and went for round two. Well, you can probably guess what happens from here…*Crash*. They were reprimanded and we were not allowed on the carts again. I suppose them having fun and getting the photos they wanted was worth it! ha! This is the stuff good wedding days are made of.
There ceremony was at the perfect time of the day. Family and friends were anxious for the ceremony to start as the sun made its way out of the sky. I loved how Erika made her way down the long winding road to meet her fiance at the end of the isle. It was a long walk and gave everyone a great view of how beautiful she was. Upon meeting Ben at the front the father and soon to be son-n-law gave “dap” instead of a handshake. So fun! The ceremony was well said and classic in style. It really made me realize how much I too love being married. The couple began to exit their ceremony to a funky little song and then all of a sudden broke out in a fun dance. It was all to my surprise, but I loved it!
Erika and Ben put their time where they thought was most important- each other. We were able to do an amazing portrait session after the wedding for about 15 minutes. These are so important. This is their special day and they knew they wanted to have great photos of themselves together. One of my absolute favorite parts of the day. I get the privilege of seeing them and spending time with them right after becoming husband and wife!
It was a magical day and we were so glad to be a part of their day. Congrats Erika & Ben—we look forward to watching your life together grow!
