Duke Farm Engagement :: Amanda + Aaron

July 2, 2015

Duke Farms is one of the most gorgeous kept secrets we have ran into. What a fantastic place to experience nature and shoot a fabulous engagement! Amanda and Aaron are seriously the MOST fun. I think we laughed as much as we talked. Amanda is a tall drink of Greek Goddess. Gorgeous from head to toe, she runs big in the fashion world. Aaron is so charming and handsome. These two together are a power team. Aaron definitely has his hands full with his Gemini fiance! We had the best time joking around with the fact she is a go-getter. You go girl!

We all hopped on the last shuttle at the farm and rode to the back end of the property and would walk our way back towards the front. OMG, this was probably a 2 miles walk! We definitely earned our workout points this day! This was one of the most diverse places to shoot and it was obvious conserving nature is a priority to Duke Farms.

From the Duke Farm Website:

J.B. Duke transformed more than 2,000 acres of farmland and woodlots into an extraordinary landscape. He excavated nine lakes, constructed some 45 buildings, and built nearly 2 ½ miles of stone walls and more than 18 miles of roadway. He also installed approximately 35 fountains and populated his property with countless pieces of sculpture. He employed hundreds of laborers and utilized the latest technologies in excavation, construction, water filtration and agriculture in pursuit of his vision.
Much of the landscape J.B. Duke created between 1893 and 1925 is still clearly evident at Duke Farms, testament to his ingenuity, resourcefulness and determination, as well as his bold vision and tremendous resources.

How amazing is that? We tracked all over the property seeing waterfalls, lakes, tree lined streets and gorgeous bridges. We even ran into a couple of rain showers, but that didn’t stop us. We just hid underneath the giant trees until they passed! Everyone knows I’m a climber. Usually it’s not too dangerous, but more like “adventurous”. OK, this time it was SUPER DANGEROUS. Like 50 foot drop into a deep abyss kind of dangerous!! I stood on the bridge so I could get the large lake photo! It was the only way I could get the shot. This was one of the first times I was seriously scared! No photos of this stunt because Jeff had to stand on guard incase something went wrong. But again, WORTH IT! Thank you Amanda and Aaron for tracking through the trails with us. We are so grateful you are in our lives and can’t wait to rock your Big Fat Greek Wedding!

xx
