Dear Photographers,
My search for the ultimate camera rig is complete. You name it… I tried it. OEM strap, BlackRapid strap, ShootSac, Hand Grips. Each one had some cons for me and was not comfortable at the end of a long wedding day. I remember seeing the HoldFast Money Maker and thought it looked a little obtrusive. But it wasn’t until I actually tried on my buddy Dee’s HoldFast that I realized how comfortable this rig is! I call it a rig because it feels so secure and balanced. And it actually helped me with my posture too! No more straps across the chest weighing me down. But when I got mine in there was just this one thing wrong… I only had 1 camera. I found with only one camera on, it would weigh me down to one side. And I didn’t have a place to store my lenses. I typically have at least 1 other lens with me to go from wide to tight. I tried the ShootSac with it but this defeated the point. It was a jumbled mess.
I saw that HoldFast released their own bag (Explorer Lens Pouch) for the MoneyMaker system and it looks nice. But it wouldn’t work for me because it is too small to hold my 70-200 and was quite expensive. I started to search for a small, standalone bag that I could somehow hook on to the Money Maker. Then I came across the ONA Bowery. It’s the perfect compliment! Small enough to sit on your side and out the way, but large enough to fit a 70-200. It’s well padded and comes with a divider. It also has tons of small pockets for my phone, lens caps and lens wipes. And only $130 🙂 But the major reason I bought this bag was because of how easy I could attach it to my Money Maker. The ONA bag has 2 metal rings on each side that I could attach the 2 leather straps that came with my MoneyMaker to hold the bag. And I bought one of the HoldFast Portrait Sliders to hold the camera. I highly recommend getting a portrait slider if you have the Money Maker system to hold your camera. You don’t realize how much you need those extra 2 inches when you take portrait shots.
