It’s the email you’re always excited to open. The email subject that reads: Vegas Wedding.
We were super stoked when we saw that Stace & Dill were getting married in Vegas, but to make it even more exciting- they were coming from Australia! Eloping after being together for ten years with their best friends was their dream. The friends did not know this was happening until right before they got to Vegas. How cool is that!? We were all eagerly anticipating this wedding and the element of surprise just took it to a new level. They would return back to Australia and announce to their family and friends at their “engagement party” that they were actually married! Oh how I would like to be the fly on the wall there!
We met Stace and Dill the night before the wedding at the Cosmopolitan. It was as if we had known each other forever. Their accents and laid back attitude towards everything made us feel super comfortable. There was something magical about meeting such adventurous people. The plan was “loose” and “we shall see”. So many brides get caught up in all the details, but this bride reminded me that its really all about marrying the love of your life. They ordered a large bouquet of flowers and then picked it apart to make bouquets for all three girls. They went shopping in Vegas for the final details of the wedding. Not once did anyone seem flustered or in a hurry. It was amazing!
The Vegas strip was gorgeous and crowded as Stace made her way out of the Cosmopolitan for their First Look. All of the friends were lined up outside to watch and cheer them on. Dill was look calm and dapper and she approached. It was an emotional moment for them. They were finally here…in Vegas…getting married! A round of cheers and applause roared from the sidelines as everyone got pumped to go get these two hitched!
The ceremony was held at The Neon Museum. Which by the way is the coolest place in Vegas. It was absolutely gorgeous outside and the sun would be setting very soon. We all gathered inside the high piles of neon signs and made a quick decision on where they should stand to get married. Ummm..THAT corner 🙂 So the friends, minister, Dill and his twin brother stood in the corner of golden coins as the girls waited back at the entrance. The girls were in the most gorgeous orange dresses followed by Stace in her sequined white gown. There was no music or chairs. It was simple, beautiful and sentimental. Everyone started singing as she walked through the old neon signs to meet in the middle with Dill. It was a tear jerker! This wedding was all about relationships, friendships and commitment. Everyone committed to be there and show their love and support. Hands down- the coolest group of Aussie’s I know!
And in true Vegas fashion, we hit the strip for 2 hours and enjoyed the oversized resorts, twinkling lights and gorgeous architecture. It is a true honor to be asked to shoot a wedding. It is even more overwhelming when someone from across the world ask you to join them for a destination wedding. A SECRET destination wedding. We couldn’t have been happier!! This was a group of friends that inspired us and made us laugh. Thank you Stace and Dill for taking us on your wild wedding adventure. We are happy to call you our friends. Now, when do we come to Australia to visit? 🙂
xx,
Leaha + Jeffrey
