Sometimes you just have to take time to shoot for the love of it. And I love Susan and Carl.
It has been a little over 3 years since Susan lost her son, Jeremy, to pancreatic cancer. Jeremy was my best friend. Jeremy always had a special relationship with his mom and raved about her. I grew to love them as my own, too. Precious people with a heart for God. I was really excited that I would get to spend the afternoon with them while they visited Texas for a marriage retreat. The Marriott Hotel in Plano has a gorgeous plaza to shoot in. It was perfect. I know Jeremy was walking and talking with us. He always wanted to get me and his mother in the same room. It was so much fun.
At the end of the session I noticed Carl’s Bible laying on the desk. I began to shoot some detail shots of it when he asked “What are you doing”? It prompted me to hand him his bible for some photos. Susan was quick to request their favorite bible verses. Carl knew exactly where to turn and where to start reading. 1 Corinthians. We all know this passage very well… “Love is patient, Love is kind…” Susan loves that Carl reads her this passage by memory almost daily. How SWEET! He started reciting the verses and got emotional about half way through. Susan picked up where Carl left off and they finished out the passage reading in unison. Hands down one of the sweetest moments I have ever shot.
Matthew 18:20 – For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
Thank you for sharing your relationship, your beautiful son and your love for Jesus with me.
Your love is SO beautiful.
xx
