It was shaping up to be a gorgeous day on the Jersey Shore as we arrived at the hotel to meet Heather and Rory for their big day. The royal blue theme throughout the details really made for beautiful photos. The girls were running around in blue floral robes as they all watched their friend prepare for her big day. It was quite funny- the bridesmaids and bride were all in one small hotel room getting ready together. There were 8 bridesmaids all tucked inside this little square and believe it or not- it was quite calm. All of the ladies were so sweet and Heather could not have been more radiant. She knows how obsessed I am with her auburn hair and freckles…she is stunning. She ran in and out of her friends and family with her pin curls on top of her head while she waited for the big moment of putting on her dress. It was a special moment when Heather and her mom put on the final details to her dress. I’m pretty sure I cried, too. Next door the guys were getting ready in a much more relaxed state of mind. Philadelphia Eagles was the theme for the day. Everyone had a mug in their hand and were ready to get the day going. We really loved their grey suits against the girls royal blue dresses. What a great looking group we had that day!
We all headed to Asbury Park to take our first round of photos. The wind is always present and the veil is always a pain. I think its comical and makes for great images at the end of the day. HA! The wedding party were really down for any ideas we had. Such a great group to work with in such a chaotic place. Kudos to all of you! Asbury Park had just commissioned graffiti artists to do spray some of the buildings on the Boardwalk. We decided to take advantage of the art work because it may not be there for too long. We love that people get into our photos…it real life…things are happening all around us and when they walk or ride into the shot, it gives the images a “real life” feeling. When Heather and Rory are together they are just plain gorgeous. We had some fun with the artwork and wind before leaving Asbury and of course, took advantage of the veil in the wind.
The ceremony and reception were held at The English Manor. The sun was about to set as everyone prepared for the ceremony. What a gorgeous garden like backdrop with trees and beautiful lamp posts. The kids at this wedding were the cutest!! Watching and waiting on them to do something silly made us all laugh. The ceremony was full of great advice, love and Christian values. Such a sweet, sentimental way to start their married life. The reception shortly followed and to our surprise- Heather came in with a light up stick and Rory came in with a Darth Vader helmet on. The theme music was playing as the wedding party all had glow sticks- it was time to party. We loved this grand entrance!! How fun and what a great way to get everyone on their feet and dancing. Everyone was dancing…all night. Such a great party. And of course, we snuck out to do some sparkler shots and one extra special shot for Rory. Philadelphia Eagles pixel stick shot- FTW! We love this couple. Thank you so much for inviting us in your lives, sharing this beautiful experience with you and then trusting us to document your day. This is just the beginning.
Congrats to the new couple! Looking forward to watching you grow together in this life!
