What more could a photographer ask for? A stunning couple, loving families, beautiful weather, a fun wedding party, high emotions, and epic dance floor- well, nothing! Our incredible day started in New York’s, The Time Nyack. The hotel was chic and sophisticated just like Caroline and Brian. Jeff and I had the privilege of shooting their engagement photos in Washington D.C. last year together at the Catholic University. From the moment we met them, we loved them. Even so much that I named my new car “Sweet Caroline” after we drove it to D.C. that weekend! We arrived at the hotel to find everyone bustling around two different floors of the hotel in cute robes with their hair up in pin curls. Everyone was so sweet and totally embraced the fact that we were climbing on things, shooting through things, and being the weird, dorky photographers we are. 🙂 There was no rush and things were down to earth and peaceful. I think Caroline is responsible for this because she has such a sweet demeanor and doesn’t let stress overcome her. Caroline’s mom and sister were such big helpers, running around grabbing things and making sure everything went just right for Caroline. Caroline’s dad came to see her for the first time right before we left for the ceremony. What an epic moment between a dad and his little girl. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room- including me! Getting Caroline to her Rolls Royce was the trickiest thing we did all day- and the most fun! I put together a game plan to have her walk to the Rolls Royce with her parents as I stayed in the 4th floor suite hanging over the edge waiting for the perfect shot. Jeff was giving me clues as to where they were and when they would be close to the car. I was happily hanging off the side of the railing doing what we Texans call- shooting from the hip. Basically, hoping I’m getting something worth while because I couldn’t see! Luckily- it worked out AWESOME! So, thank you to Caroline for taking the risk and doing something unique for her wedding.
The ceremony was absolutely gorgeous and touching. There were lots of tears and loving glances as they took their vows and remembered those that couldn’t be there with them. It was the perfect start to their marriage and party to be held at The Tides Estate. The toasts were unbelievable! One of our favorite parts of the day and quite possibly the entire wedding season. We love toasts because they give us a deeper insight into the bride and groom and how they ended up where they are today. There were big smiles and big tears for this wedding and you can include Jeff and myself. So many beautiful moments and stories were told before the dance floor opened up. We knew Caroline and Brian were fun, but we had no idea that their reception would be OFF THE HOOK! Wow, these people can dance!! We had the best time dancing along with everyone. The music was on point and the floor never emptied. There was just a feeling…a feeling of true celebration for the newlyweds. What an epic day.
We truly are honored that we were chosen to document your wedding Brian and Caroline!!! Cheers to your new marriage and our forever friendship. Congrats!
xx
