- Engagement
Washington D.C. is a gorgeous place and we were thrilled to make our first trip to shoot Caroline and Brian’s engagement session. Being able to see all of the monuments and walk around the National Mall was something we will never forget. Caroline and Brian gave us a tour of the city they fell in love in. Both attended The Catholic University of America where they both participated in sports. She is a runner and he is a basketball player and they make the best team! We all met at the bottom of the Washington Monument to begin our D.C. adventure. These two were looking super chic and absolutely gorgeous. Caroline and Brian were so generous to walk us through the monuments and tell us about their love story. We had a game plan before we started shooting incase we were approached about having a permit to shoot. We were going to be “cousins”. And Jeff and myself were not professional photographers *cough cough*. We got away scotch free for the most part. The second round of the session was spent across town at their college and we may have had to use our cousin story once. It was quite hilarious- I was crouched in the bushes taking their photos when I was approached by a man in a neon vest. “Ma’am, are you a professional photographer? You’re not allowed to be shooting on these grounds”. I immediately looked surprised and said I wasn’t a pro by any means (enter a weird chuckle) and said that they were alumni and I was Caroline’s cousin. EEP! He was ok with than answer and went about his business. I immediately had to ask God to forgive me! OMG!
It was an adventure from beginning to end! We are so glad that these two fell into our lives and that we were able to tell a piece of their love story in D.C. Congrats you guys and we are thrilled to be seeing you here, there and at the wedding!
PS: Trace is very grateful you let him tag along for his first trip to D.C.! Thank you!
xx
