Williamsburg Nighttime Engagement :: Sarah + Johnee
  • Engagement
February 13, 2017

A quick weekend 24-hour getaway…Sarah and Johnee boarded a plane from Dallas to New York in search of adventure and bling. We joined the rockin’ couple in hip burrow of Williamsburg, Brooklyn. We started at the Wythe Hotel with drinks and a little liquid courage. These two had already been enjoying their afternoon in Brooklyn before we arrived. They came for a quick trip to design Sarah the perfect wedding ring by designer, Anna Sheffield. So, we decided to run around the streets of Williamsburg and see what trouble we could get into. Sarah and Johnee didn’t want super posed/perfect photos. They really helped me break out of my shell of posing- and just be more authentic in how I shoot. I appreciate their willingness to be themselves…it really allowed me to do the same. My style, personally, has been changing over the winter months to be more journalistic and this was a great way to spread my photojournalism wings with a client. We really enjoyed shooting without any flash for the majority of the session. Searching for available light and architecture really pushed us as photographers. Half of these images are from my new Fuji Film X-E2. Such a fun, little camera that really gives a sense of “being closer” to the subject. We ran out for dinner afterward and chatted about our love for dance music and city lights. So happy for these two hotties as they embark on the adventure of marriage. Cheers, to the anti-establishment! 😀
