Every once in a while you get a dream photo shoot…and everything is topped off with greatness when it comes with amazing people! I absolutely love this couple.

Breanna and I met when I became her mentor as a music teacher. She had just moved from Florida to Texas and it was her first year to teach. I remember being hesitant to do this. Was I qualified enough to teach another teacher how to teach? Then I met Breanna and we hit it off from the start. Immediately I asked her when her birthday was. When we realized we were both Gemini’s– well, that was the start of our friendship 🙂 We spent many hours talking, working, gossiping and some traveling. I grew to see her as my dear friend. I can remember when she first met Dennis and all the gooshy love stories she had to tell about him. I had just found out I was pregnant and we were on a trip together. It was a late night of girly talking and she started to tell me about Dennis moving overseas and how she couldn’t see her life without him. I just knew something was going to happen for them! And…it did.

They came into town and I just had to shoot their engagement photos. Breanna wanted him to sport his authentic bomber jacket and she would wear a timeless 50’s style dress. I was so excited to go Vintage on these photos! I took my ULTIMATE top favorite photo of all time that day. I have a humongous canvas in my office of this image. It was like a dream shot for me. We were shooting at the Vintage Flying Museum where most of the airplanes are in the hanger, but there was this one gorgeous plane outside behind a locked fence. I just had to get to this plane. They warned us that this gate hardly EVER opens and is locked because it was the airports property. We went to set up in the hanger and would you believe it!!!– Someone from the airport pulled up to the gate and started to unlock it! I ran…and fast! The man was very sweet and said he had a few minutes if we wanted to shoot a few quick photos. Hands down….my favorite shot ever. *So lucky*

Dennis is a pilot in the Airforce! How amazing. They now live overseas together in Japan and plan to be married in Maui this December! I literally cried when they asked us to shoot their wedding day in Hawaii! ABSOLUTELY! I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else. And to top things off–we are doing an after session in their bridal gear the next day! EEK!

Congrats you two. We are counting the days until you are husband and wife.

xx,

Leaha & Jeffrey
