I absolutely love telling the story of how we found Kailynn and Valerie. Or rather, how they found us. Jeff and I were shooting an engagement session in New Hope, PA. The weather was not cooperating with us. It was rainy and we had to drag our clients around dodging showers. Luckily at the end of the evening it stopped raining and was absolutely gorgeous. I’m a big selfie fan. Photos of me with my clients are essential on any shoot day.  And I’m pretty sure I hashtag just about everything! Instagram has been a fabulous place to interact because its picture based and more interactive, IMO! We were on our way home from the session and I posted a photo and used the hashtag #NewHope. Apparently, Kailynn and Valerie were sitting on a porch enjoying the weather on the main street in New Hope at the same time we were shooting. Kailynn runs a fun Instagram called Gay Bride Guide that gives great tips and encouragement to Lesbian Brides! She is also an avid hashtagger! She searched the hashtag and saw a photo I had posted on my way back to New Jersey. She commented on my photo saying that she had just saw us shooting earlier! The internet makes the world seem so much smaller. We instantly became friends and after some time- they contacted us to possibly be there photographers!

We met up in Morristown for our first face to face meet up. I had read Kailynn’s blog and tips for Lesbian couples looking for photographers. We both found it funny that we were basically breaking half the rules she had suggested to other brides! I think it made us closer to break some rules. We immediately fell in love with this couple. We are so honored they chose us to share in this adventure.

The engagement session was sunny, cool and windy as we looked over Manhattan. Fall was in full swing and they were dressed to the nines! We loved the vintage dress and tailored vest on Valerie. They looked amazing! We ended our session right before dark at Starbucks. It was just what we needed after being so cold! I can’t say enough about these two! Congrats and we are so excited to see you get married!
