We shared something very special in common with Jacqueline and Michael. All four of us decided that we would elope to the greatest city on earth, New York City! We are also all from Texas! It wasn’t until we were shooting the engagement in Manhattan that we all discovered we were from the south. So, telling their love story has been super special from the very beginning. Planning a wedding from across the country can be quite the challenge, but these two pulled off a fantastic an unforgettable wedding experience not only for themselves but for all of their family.

The day started at the Soho Grand Hotel where she would be getting ready on one side of the door and he would be getting ready on the other side of the door in the same room. It was funny trying to be careful that they did not see each other as they both prepared for their big day. Jacqueline is my kind of girl! She loves macaroons, champagne and has a great sense of style! But don’t let Michael fool you… He has impeccable style as well. One of our favorite moments from the getting ready portion of the day was when we decided to pop a bottle of champagne. Pink rose sparkling shot from the bottle all over the hotel room and left the ceiling dripping pink!! The anticipation of the champagne bottle popping was hilarious. And when it finally did, champagne went everywhere the girl’s faces were priceless.

Their first look was unbelievably emotional and Michael was prepared for Jacqueline to cry. He was such a gentleman and wiped her tears with his handkerchief. This wedding day was going to be jam packed with epic locations all over Manhattan, so we jumped in the big black suv and got on our way. We started at Top of the Rock where we had the VIP treatment. We were able to skip the lines and get our own private elevator up and down. The views from here are unbelievable and unforgettable. Michael and Jacqueline wanted amazing photographs and they were able to allow 3+ hours to get these amazing shots. Together we had a detailed game plan that ultimately worked out perfectly! After Top of the Rock, we then headed to Grand Central terminal where it was a busy day and tons of people. But that is exactly what we wanted. There is something special when someone leaves their home state to get married in New York City. Everything is exciting and the thrill of the unknown keeps things moving at a high energy. Adventuring around the city through iconic landmarks really is tiring, but with a good plan- you can do it. So, when we finally made it to the publi something special when someone leaves their home state to get married in New York City. Adventuring around the city through iconic landmarks really is a blast. So, when we finally made it to the New York public library, we were very excited. The library is one of the most gorgeous places in the city. It was risky shooting inside, but we managed to pull off some gorgeous locations indoors before leaving for the ceremony. Meanwhile, across town, their guests were being surprised with a red double decker bus that would escort them to the surprise ceremony location. The wedding was to be held at The Highline in Chelsea. Jacqueline and myself had done some research and she decided to do her pop up wedding in one of the watching decks where people can sit and watch the traffic below. Their guests and random people were seated in the riser seating overlooking the street. We remember candidly as she was walking down the public viewing spot, all of the tourists had their cameras and phones in the air videoing and taking pictures as she approached her soon-to-be husband. The crowd roared with excitement and a loud applause greeted her into the ceremony space. People from all over the world were watching her get married to her best friend. With a quick ceremony of only 7 to 10 minutes – they were now husband and wife. All of the anxiety of possibly getting shut down by security we’re gone. What an exciting day to get married and what an exciting day for all of her guests. Everyone then loaded the double-decker bus and celebrated all the way to the reception venue. It was truly magical riding atop the bus overlooking the city as Jaqueline and Michael sat for the first time as man and wife.

The celebration would continue at The Lofts at Prince. Black, gold and green decor rounded out the Gatsby theme celebration. The rooftop reception had the most incredible views of the city. 56 of their closest friends and family celebrated well into the evening overlooking the city as the buildings lit up the sky.

This was truly an adventure from the very beginning. And elopement takes a lot of planning and shooting all around Manhattan is very risky. But these two were down for anything and we we’re so thrilled to help make their dreams come true. We are so very excited for Jacqueline and Michael and we wish them all the best as they start their adventure in marriage together.

Cheers!!!
