Emily & Max :: Downtown Grapevine, Rockledge Park Engagement

December 5, 2023

This is one of those full-circle moment stories, ya’ll.

I met Emily when she was 15 and shot her quinceannera back in 2012 before we moved to New Jersey! I then went on to shoot her senior photos and now she is all grown up and running her successful practice and marrying her high school sweetheart and police officer, Max! Whew, it makes me emotional just thinking about it all!

I remember the day Emily reached out after we had formally announced we were stepping away from weddings. She was super respectful, but curious if we would consider her wedding. We chatted and caught up on life and both got giddy that we were going to get to work together again. And I get to see her whole family again! YAY.

We flew into Texas for the holidays and were blessed with a gorgeous sunny day. Just as I suspected, Max was every bit the gentleman that she says he is. Their love is playful and refreshing. Being together for over 10 years- that’s impressive. Grapevine Texas was decorated for the Christmas holiday as we explored the downtown area. Max got a little hangry- so we grabbed him a candy apple. HA, he let everyone have a piece and try, and let me tell you (this was my first covered apple)- it was dang good!

We wrapped up the session at Rockledge Park on Lake Grapevine where you get scenic views that go forever. The cliffs run along the water’s edge and the horizon looks infinite against the giant Texas sky. The sun was setting and we maximized the time we had and watched it tuck behind the water. It was magical and comical. Let’s just say we ended up in the water!

Congrats you two lovebirds. We are so excited for your future and to celebrate alongside your families. Cheers from New Jersey!
